We had asked the Justers to find clothes and toys they didn’t need anymore and donate them to other families as a Christmas present. Of course this created an abundance of “stuff” at the Just-Office. We needed to sort them out and then divide them into several Christmas boxes.

Fortunately, everyone pitched in and within an hour we were ready to wrap up the presents. But before we could start, it was time for Koen”s authentic Indonesian meal. With the efficient preparations by Ralf and the help of Glenn, Lennard and Chung we were able to finish in time. The boxes were donated by Gastrovino, courtesy of Dennis.

Joachim came by with his “truck” to bring the boxes to Vluchtelingenwerk. The boxes were meant for the “huiskamerproject”. Here, under aged refugees can get legal advice, use the internet or just come and chat. For these under aged refugees the government provides all kinds of programmes. But after they turn 19, there is less aid coming from the government so they need additional help. Especially to see whether or not they can stay in The Netherlands. Some have shelter and others live on the street. There also a few who have children. These children are the ones getting the Christmas presents.

In the end we gathered presents for 27 children, and gave them a Christmas to remember.
